We delight in matching you with the perfect books, no matter your age or reading tastes. The more you tell us on the questionnaire, the more accurately we can select the perfect book. However, if a book you receive is not to your liking (or you already own it), let us know! We will happily exchange it for another title and update your preferences.

Why should I subscribe?
The joys of reading a good book with a child are magical and special! Reading regularly with a child is a nurturing experience – one you both will cherish years from now. We will continue to provide age appropriate reading as your child moves into different types of books and reading levels. It’s fun to see them read independently and be excited about the story.


How are the books selected?
Our reading specialists will make selections for your reader based on their age and interests. The more information you provide, the better! Middle Reader Moose and Young Adult Moose will fill out a questionnaire to help us learn about books and subjects they like – and don’t particularly like. We will select books we have read and think highly of. Books may be classics or award winners. We love books and love picking out the perfect book for children of all ages!


I want to give a baby gift – shall I purchase a subscription for a newborn?
It is important to read aloud to babies under a year old. Reading aloud, snuggling together is a wonderful bond of both voice and touch.


How are the boxes addressed?
We think it is fun for a child to get a box addressed to them, so that is what we do! If you would like the name of a parent/caregiver on the box, we can add that too. Please mention that in the note field while signing up.


How is the billing done?
Your credit card will be charged automatically on the day the books are shipped.

If you choose the "Paid in Full" option the total will be charged when the first book(s) is shipped.

Who pays for the shipping? How are books shipped? When will they ship?
The Well~Read Moose will cover shipping expenses. Books are sent via Media Mail. Books are shipped the first Friday of the Month. Bi-Monthly subscriptions ship in January, March, May, July, September and November. Quarterly subscriptions ship in January, April, July, and October.

Can I put my subscription on hold or cancel my subscription?
You may email us at any time to put your subscription on hold for up to three months. You may cancel your subscription at any time.

​​Is it possible to return a book that was selected for my subscription box?

We will accept returns within two weeks of receipt as long as the book is either dropped off at the store for an exchange or shipped back to us. We are asking that customers pay returns shipping, as we will be reshipping a new title.
