The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo

Enchanting. Dark. Unexpected. Bardugo creates such an interesting and twisted world - you don't need to have read her other novels to enjoy this collection of short stories. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around a few of them.

The Spy by Paulo Coelho

Coelho tells the story of real life "spy" Mata Hari. Mata Hari experinces ups and downs throughout her short life, going from abused wife to celebrity to accused spy. This novel sheds light on her bold and fearless life before it came to a brutal end. Interesting and short read.

From Here to Eternity by Caitlin Doughty

Doughty, an American mortician, explores the world in search of "good" death. Some sleep with their mummified grandfathers every night, while others unbury and rebury their loved ones every few years. It was fascinating to learn about other cultures' rituals about dignified deaths. So interesting!

Full of romance, adventure, and dynamic characters, this series is one I will read again and again. LOVED it.

"I love books in a way that's beyond logic and reason...It's not enough to read - I want to talk through the pages to get to the other side, to get to the person who read them before me." This is a book about friendship and love, grief and loss...But mostly, this is about a love of words and books. Sweet and emotional.

This is one of my favorite series and authors! Alanna wants to become a knight and her twin brother wants to be a sorcerer. So they disguise themselves and switch places. Alanna deals with much hardship in her quest to become more than a proper lady. So much adventure, romance and struggle fill these pages. Follow Alanna's daughter in the "Trickster's Choice." So good!

The Invisible Library Series

This series is complex and clever - alternate universes, fairy tale creatures, literary pirates, and the powerfully mysterious Library. The characters are charming, witty, and extremely likable. Irene and Kai team up to find valuable, one-of-a-kind books, while dealing with chaos, magic, and more. This series of adventure can't be missed!

Mischling by Affinity Konar

If you love the Star Wars franchise, don't miss out on Carrie's autobiography. She talks about her life on the set, fame, Harrison Ford, and everything in between. She includes excerpts from her diary she kept during filming, giving us insight into her thoughts and emotions. She is intelligent, witty, poetic, and charming. Great read!
